Why you should run

Health
Out of all the benefits you gain from running the most crucial one is improved health. Running improves your cardiovascular system by strengthen the heart by ensuring the proper flow of blood & oxygen throughout the body which in long term will help prevent heart disease and heart attacks. Running also helps with maintaining blood pressure and cholesterol. Lastly improving your immune disease which is important to fighting off sicknesses.

Weight Management
Running is one of those exercises that burns the most calories if you're trying to lose weight. If you're at a weight that your comfortable at running will help maintain that weight. Running increases what they call the "After-Burn" which is where the number of calories you burn after a workout increases. Of course running by itself won't help lose or maintain weight but with frequent exercise and proper diet you will find losing weight and maintaining weight easier.

Social Life
One thing that running has given me is a better social life as I have met some of the most interesting and beautiful people on earth due to this exercise. Joining a run club is another way to get more social as there are thousands around the world. Running with people really motivates oneself and just makes running feel more like a social event rather than an exercise.

Running helps with memory
Frequent exercise helps with age related mental decline according to Professor Jack Sampson at The University of Texas at Austin. Being better at everyday functions such as switching from task to task, problem solving and memory recall are all ways running improve your psyche. The big one is running may help prevent Alzheimer disease.

Mental Toughness
Pushing yourself to the absolute limit could be one of the hardest things to do as it puts you in a very uncomfortable position. Running is one of those exercises that may feel uncomfortable as it is vigorous and demands a lot from you. So pushing through all of this really makes you stronger mentally for everyday ideals and just as a person.

Energy Levels
Feeling sluggish and tired is a common thing all humans feel. Exercise boost energy levels according to Professor Jack Sampson at The University of Texas at Austin. Specially in those early morning as you don't want to wake up going on a run will boost your energy as it increases blood flow all around your body.

Versatile
Running is a sport/activity that doesn't require too much equipment like other sports. You can buy a solid pair of running shoes for under $100 and shorts and shirts under $20. You don't need a membership or anything just shoes and clothes and you're ready to go. You get to run around parts of your community you never seen or run on the most beautiful trails on the planet.

Stress Relief
A cure for stress is what running is for me and what running can do for you. It can also cure slight depression. Some may even experience what's called a "Runners high" which is an experience you get that makes you feel real good about yourself and you strive to feel that again and again. I feel happier and better about myself when I run so everyone should try it and see how they feel.
