Health Out of all the benefits you gain from running the most crucial one is improved health. Running improves your cardiovascular system by strengthen the heart by ensuring the proper flow of blood & oxygen throughout the body which in long term will help prevent heart disease and heart attacks. Running also helps with maintaining blood pressure and cholesterol. Lastly improving your immune disease which is important to fighting off sicknesses.  Weight Management Running is one of those exercises that burns the most calories if you're trying to lose weight. If you're at a weight that your comfortable at running will help maintain that weight. New York City Marathon 2023

The Marathon One of the biggest Marathon in the world the New York City Marathon hosted 51,402 total finishers. This Marathon holds immense importance as it transcends mere athletic competition but is a symbol for human determination. Route The 26.2 Mile race starts in Staten Island, from there you run through Brooklyn. The 13.1 mile mark is by Greenport and from there you run over to Manhattan where you run all the way to The Bronx. From the Bronx you go back down to Manhattan where the race comes to an end at Central Park.  Tamirat Tola Coming in first place in the overall race was Tamirat Tola. A 32 year old Ethiopian who has competed in multiple races around the world and won the bronze medal in the 10,000 meters at the 2016 Rio Olympics.  Steve Prefontaine Born Steve Roland "Pre" Prefontaine on January 25, 1951 in Coos Bay, Oregon. Steve Prefontaine is one of the most influential long distance runner of all time setting American records at every distance from the 2,000 to 10,000 meter. Known for his running style and determination he strived to be the very best in the sport of running.
